Nepal, July 18 -- Police arrested two youths from the Krishna Mandir area of Birendranagar-8 with a large cache of pharmaceutical drugs, illegal weapons, and banned wildlife parts.

Acting on a tip-off, a team from the District Police Office (DPO), Surkhet, raided the area and apprehended Bidhan Shahi, 23, and Aditya Ghimire, 22.

During a search of their room and bodies, the police recovered 1,426 tablets of various types of narcotics, said DSP Mohan Jung Buth Thapa, spokesperson of the DPO.

The search also uncovered a semi-automatic Chinese pistol, two magazines, 12 rounds of bullets, four khukuris, two knives, an axe, a nightstick, scissors, and other sharp weapons.
