KATHMANDU, Jan. 23 -- Police on Friday arrested the owner of the Dhangadhi-based Multi Skill Institute of Technology for running the institute without the government's permission, and swindling students out of millions of rupees.

A team of police from the Kailali District Police Office arrested Raja Ram Chaudhari, 34, of Gauriganga Municipality-8, who swindled students out of Rs 7.3 million by admitting them to his institute, which has not obtained permission from the government.

The institute, without getting affiliation from the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT), enrolled 118 students for agriculture veterinary and computer courses.
