KATHMANDU, Jan. 20 -- Police have arrested a man who conned a person to send to the United States of America, claiming that he was the chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC).

A team of police personnel from the Metropolitan Police Crime Division (MPCD) arrested Tulsi Thapa, 60, a resident of Pachkhapan Rural Municipality-5 in Sankhuwasabha district, on the charge of defrauding a person. He allegedly received Rs 1.5 million from the victim to help him secure a multiple visa of five years to the United States.

Police nabbed Thapa from Durbarmarg in Kathmandu on Tuesday.
