Nepal, April 23 -- Minister of State for Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation Purna Bahadur Tamang, has been dismissed from his position. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli suspended him from office on Wednesday after he ignored repeated requests to resign.

Appointed as State Minister on August 2, 2024, Tamang is considered close to Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba. Due to coordination issues with Energy Minister Deepak Khadka, the NC had also been pressuring Tamang to resign.
