Nepal, March 7 -- Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has challenged former King Gyanendra Shah to contest the general election being held in 2084 BS.

In his special address at the Karnali Provincial Assembly on Friday, PM Oli hinted at former King Shah, urging him to wait for the 2084 BS elections if he feels he is popular among the people. The prime minister also questioned the intention of a section of people in the country seeking to seize power by creating chaos. "I do not accept the majority. I do not accept representatives elected by the people. I do not accept the rule of representatives elected by the people, and I do not accept what the law and the constitution say," he said. "What kind of rule are they trying to bring?"
