KATHMANDU, Nov. 18 -- Amid growing intra-party conflict within the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP), Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli, who is also the chairman of the NCP, has called a cabinet meeting at 2 pm.

The cabinet meeting otherwise held on Monday and Thursday has been called for Wednesday after the rival faction led by Executive Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal in the party decided to hold the party's Secretariat meeting at 1 pm without his consent.

Although the prime minister had initially called a meeting for 1 pm, the cabinet meeting was deferred for an hour, according to a cabinet minister. The reason for the deferral of the meeting for an hour is not known.
