Nepal, June 24 -- Petroleum products worth Rs 18.04 billion have been imported through the eastern border point of Kakarbhitta in the first 11 months of the current Fiscal Year (FY) 2024/25. The imported petroleum products include petrol, diesel, LPG, ATF(aviation fuel), and kerosene.

According to Ishwar Kumar Humagain, Information Officer and Customs Officer at the Mechi Customs Office, this is a decline of Rs 1.06 billion (5.60 percent) compared to the same period in the previous fiscal year.

Despite the decline in imports, revenue collected from petroleum products increased by 5.70 percent, amounting to Rs 474.3 million more than the previous year.
