Nepal, Dec. 25 -- Petroleum imports through Birgunj amounted to Rs 72.28 billion in the first five months of the current Fiscal Year (FY) 2025/26.

According to the Birgunj Customs Office, the import of five types of petroleum products during the period generated Rs 30.25 billion in revenue.

Information Officer at the Birgunj Customs Office, Uday Singh Bista, said that revenue collection increased alongside the rise in petroleum imports in the first five months of the fiscal year.

Compared to the same period of the previous FY, revenue collection has increased by 6.42 percent, or Rs 1.83 billion, this year. In the corresponding period last FY, petroleum imports worth Rs 69.15 billion were recorded.
