Pakistani FM holds meeting with UN Secretary General in New York, raises Kashmir issue
KATHMANDU, Jan. 16 -- Foreign Minister of Pakistan Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi met UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres today in New York.
Briefing the Secretary General on the grave situation in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Qureshi said that eight million Kashmiris continue to be placed under indefinite curfew, lockdown and communications blackout for over 150 days, according to a press release issued by Pakistan Embassy in Kathmandu.
"The Foreign Minister also welcomed consideration of the issue of Jammu & Kashmir by the Security Council second time in the last five months which reaffirmed its disputed status as per the United Nations Security Council resolutions," read the press release.
