Nepal, July 10 -- More than 66,000 people in Tanahun district are estimated to be affected by monsoon-related disasters this year, according to the Monsoon Preparedness and Response Plan 2082 BS prepared by the District Disaster Management Committee.
Chief District Officer Ram Krishna Adhikari, who also chairs the committee, said the plan projects 66,350 individuals to be impacted within the district. Nationwide, an estimated 1.25 million people are likely to be affected by monsoon induced disasters this year, with Gandaki Province accounting for 287,100 people from 65,699 households.
