KATHMANDU, March 17 -- In a major drug bust in Mahottari district, police on Sunday, arrested an individual who was attempting to smuggle 547 kilograms of cannabis concealed in the modified roof of a mini truck.

According to the District Police Office (DPO), Mahottari, police arrested 37-year-old Salin Magar, permanent resident of Bahrabise Municipality-7, currently residing in Kathmandu's Tokha, at around 5 pm on Sunday for smuggling the contraband.

Upon a regular inspection of a mini truck (Ba.3 Kha 5832) traveling from Sindhuli towards Bardibas, a joint team of police personnel from the Area Police Office, Bardibas, and the Narcotics Control Bureau, found out that the truck's roof had been modified with a false metal bottom and cov...
