Nepal, Jan. 24 -- Chairman of CPN-UML KP Sharma Oli has questioned the purpose and direction of newly formed political parties, suggesting they lack a clear mission for nation-building.

Speaking at a party induction program on Saturday at the CPN-UML central office in Chyasal, Oli likened the journey of these new parties to running on a treadmill.

Other parties, and those that have emerged in the name of 'new,' have no destination. They just run on a treadmill-sweating, yet going nowhere," he remarked. Oli's statement appeared to target Balendra Shah (Balen), former Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, who recently contested from the same area as Oli and has been garnering significant support nationwide.
