Nepal, April 30 -- Resham Chaudhary, the mastermind behind the Tikapur carnage and the patron of the Nagarik Unmukti Party (NUP), has been released from the Dillibazar prison following his brief and unauthorized detention on Wednesday.

Chaudhary, who was arrested by the police based on an unauthorized letter from the Supreme Court (SC), was freed after the SC issued another letter directing his release later in the day.

Chaudhary was arrested from Nepal Academy, just as the unification program between the NUP and Janamat Party was about to begin.
