KATHMANDU, Sept. 13 -- Keeping in view of the Dashain festival, Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has announced to circulate fresh paper notes from September 20.

The crispy paper money goes into high demand as new notes are traditionally given as gifts during the festival. Last year, NRB did not distribute the new notes for the festival due to the high threat of COVID-19 pandemic.

The central bank provides the fresh paper notes from the currency management department at Thapathali. Outside the valley, fresh currency notes can be obtained from NRB's branch offices located in Biratnagar, Janakpur, Birgunj, Pokhara, Siddharthanagar, Nepalgunj and Dhangadhi.
