Nepal, Aug. 28 -- Continuous rainfall and related monsoon hazards have completely blocked travel on nine major roads across the country.

According to a notice issued by the Department of Roads, floods and landslides have led to the full obstruction of nine road sections, while traffic is operating one-way on 151 others. Out of the total 371 road sections nationwide, 211 are currently fully open.

The department stated that the roads have been obstructed due to damage caused by floods, landslides, and inundation; difficulties in vehicle movement; washed-away bridges; ongoing road and bridge construction; and other repair works.
