Nepal, Oct. 6 -- Trading at the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) remained shut on Monday despite the government cancelling a public holiday which had been announced citing the catastrophe with torrential rains.

Earlier, the government had declared two-day public holidays starting from Sunday after the incessant rains inflicted heavy damages on roads in many parts of the country. Floods and landslides triggered by torrential monsoon rains since Friday killed at least 49 people, injured 20, and displaced thousands in eastern and central Nepal.
