Nepal, June 9 -- Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Monday enjoyed a surge by 23.19 points to close at 2,653.09 points.

The secondary market opened at 2,629.89 points and went up gradually throughout the trading hours. The index surged following a decline for consecutive four days, mainly with the investors' attraction to shares of hydropower companies.

Three groups - including trading, hotels and tourism, and life insurance had their market value declined, with the 'trading index'- went down by the largest of 18.68 points. Out of the 10 gainers, hydropower index added the highest of 82.24 points.
