KATHMANDU, Feb. 27 -- The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) surged by 49.15 points on Thursday, closing at 2815.04, its highest level in six months.
All subgroups showed positive growth, with the commercial bank subgroup leading the way, rising by 3.32 percent. Commercial banks have become popular among share investors after Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) introduced flexible measures to boost bank profitability in its recent monetary policy review.
A total of 186 companies saw their share prices increase, with four hitting the positive circuit.With a share turnover of Rs 11.39 billion, the highest share turnover of 964.7 million rupees was recorded for Himalayan Reinsurance.
