KATHMANDU, Nov. 17 -- Nepal recorded 507 new cases, 2878 recoveries and 17 deaths linked with the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the past one day.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 507 new cases of COVID-19 were detected while conducting 3,112 PCR tests at various labs across the country in the past one day. Of the newly-infected, 298 are males and 204 are females.

At least 339 persons were found infected with COVID-19 in the Kathmandu Valley alone in the past one day, the ministry said.

The country's coronavirus case tally rose to 211475 on Tuesday, including 1247 deaths and 179242 recoveries.

There are currently 30986 active cases of coronavirus across the country, the ministry said.
