KATHMANDU, Nov. 20 -- Of 10,340 PCR tests carried out in the past 24 hours, 1,945 people tested positive for COVID-19; case tally advances to 216,965

Nepal on Friday confirmed 1,945 new cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Through the 10,340 real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) tests conducted in the past 24 hours, as many as 1,205 males and 740 females were diagnosed with the disease, according to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP). Nepal has so far carried out 1,643,900 PCR tests to diagnose the COVID-19 infection.

With this, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 infections in the country has advanced to 216,965 since the country detected the first case on January 23 earlier this year. The number incl...
