KATHMANDU, Aug. 29 -- The monsoon has become more active in Nepal over the past few days. There has been heavy rainfall in Surkhet in the last 24 hours, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM).
The DHM stated that the highest rainfall of 292.3 millimeters of torrential rain has occurred at the Khani Khola rainfall measurement center in Surkhet.
Senior meteorologist Pratibha Manandhar at the DHM's Meteorological Forecasting Division stated that due to the active low-pressure system, there has been more rainfall at certain places but fragmented precipitation in limited areas of the western region.
