KATHMANDU, Sept. 20 -- Foreign investors pledged to inject Rs 33.09 billion in Nepal in the first two months of the current fiscal year (FY).

The records with the Department of Industry (DoI) show that the country recorded the commitment for the aforementioned amount for 236 projects under foreign direct investment (FDI) during mid-July and mid-September of FY 2025/26. Of the total amount, Rs 1.36 billion was pledged through an automated system of the DoI, while the remaining Rs 31.72 billion was recorded via regular registration for the new FDI based firms.

Foreign investors showed their interest to inject Rs 21.59 billion in nine projects related to agriculture. The amount makes up more than 65 percent of the total pledged amounts.
