KATHMANDU, April 14 -- The FDI commitment increased by a nominal Rs 1.98 billion in review period

Foreign investors have pledged to inject a total capital of Rs 30.09 billion in the first nine months of the current fiscal year.

The records with the Department of Industry (DoI) show that the investment commitment increased by a nominal amount during mid-July 2023 and mid-March 2024 compared to the same period last year. In the nine months of last fiscal year, Nepal received foreign direct investment (FDI) worth Rs 28.11 billion.

According to the DoI, it approved investment of a total of 269 foreign firms as of the third quarter end. Last month alone, the department gave permission to 16 foreign firms to operate in Nepal.
