Nepal Film Association announces closure of film halls across country on February 5
KATHMANDU, Jan. 31 -- The Nepal Film Association (NFA) has announced to close the movie halls across the country for one day demanding the cancellation of the unreasonable tax imposed by the government.
Narendra Maharjan, General Secretary and Spokesperson of the NFA, said that a meeting held at the NFA's office on Tuesday decided to close the movie halls across the country on February 5 as a symbolic protest. NFA has demanded the cancellation of the unreasonable tax imposed by the government.
The NFA has claimed that the film industry is already burdened with over 33 percent tax due to various levies, including value-added tax and corporate tax.
