Nepal, June 9 -- Opposition parties have begun discussions on a middle-ground proposal advanced by the Nepali Congress (NC) to resolve the ongoing stalemate over the visit visa scandal.

The CPN (Maoist Center) and Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) have blocked parliamentary proceedings since May 27, demanding the resignation of Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak and the formation of a parliamentary investigation committee over his alleged involvement in the visa scam.
