Nepal, Jan. 8 -- The Deuba-led establishment of Nepali Congress plans separate youth and district chief meetings to counter a special general convention called by Thapa and Sharma, highlighting rising internal party tensions.

The establishment faction of the Nepali Congress (NC) has made plans to convene separate meetings of youth leaders and district party chiefs in a bid to counter calls for a special general convention within the party.According to a senior party leader, a meeting of the establishment camp held at party President Sher Bahadur Deuba's residence resolved to organize a youth leaders' gathering on the January 11.
