NAC's Twin Otter grounded for carrying 150 kg more baggage than its capacity
KATHMANDU, March 21 -- The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has grounded the crew members of a Twin Otter aircraft of the Nepal Airlines Corporation for violation of rules. According to CAAN, it has grounded seven people including three crew members, the corporation's marketing staff and a dispatcher.
CAAN Spokesperson Jagannath Niraula said that an NAC aircraft with call sign 9N ABT, which took off from Taplejung to Kathmandu on Monday, was found to be carrying 150 kg more baggage than the loading capacity of the plane. Therefore, the CAAN took action against the crew members. Spokesperson Niraula said that the plane was carrying more load than its capacity.
