KATHMANDU, Aug. 30 -- The monsoon trough is currently hovering north of its usual track in the east and remains close to its average position in the west, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD).

This afternoon, most parts of the country can expect overcast skies, with moderate rainfall likely in the Terai and hilly regions of Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces. A few areas in Bagmati and Gandaki's hill belts, along with isolated pockets of the Terai, could also experience showers.

Cloudy conditions are expected to persist into the night. The MFD has warned of moderate rain in several hilly areas across all provinces, as well as scattered rainfall in some Terai regions.
