Nepal, May 30 -- The monsoon has entered Nepal 15 days earlier than average, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM) announced on Friday.
The monsoon entered the country from the east on May 29 and has already covered most parts of Koshi Province, DHM said. The average onset date is June 13.

Director General Kamalram Joshi said monsoon rainfall is expected to gradually spread to other regions. "The effects of the monsoon are expected to reach other regions of Nepal in some days. Currently, the westerly winds and local air currents continue to influence the rest of the country," he added.
