Nepal, July 1 -- The CPN (Maoist Center) has demanded the resignation of Ramhari Khatiwada, Chair of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee, and the committee secretary.

Speaking to journalists at Singha Durbar on Tuesday, lawmaker Madhav Sapkota said both should step down over the alleged forgery involving the "cooling-off period" provision in the Federal Civil Service Bill 2080 BS.

"If he was not involved, then where did the altered provision come from, contradicting what he had signed? Even if he wasn't directly involved, the chair and secretary should resign on moral grounds," Sapkota said.
