Nepal, Dec. 27 -- The Manav Ashram Jhapa branch being operated in Mechinagar Municipality-4, Bahundangi has rescued 121 destitute people in a year.

The ashram has been rescuing street people surviving a difficult life on the roads and in public places. It has provided them with care and treatment and integrated them with their dissociated families, shared branch Coordinator Khagendra Biswokarma.

The Jhapa branch was formally inaugurated on 8 December 2024 as the 17th branch of the ashram.

According to the annual report of the branch, the operational expenditure of the ashram was Rs 5.48 million over the year.
