Nepal, Sept. 7 -- KATHMANDU, Sept 7: Lalitpur Metropolitan City (LMC) has demolished structures illegally built on a historic pond in Lagankhel. The operation involved three bulldozers and dozens of municipal police personnel.

The site located in Ward No. 5 includes a pond registered under the government's name (Plot No. 105, Area 17-0-0-0), known locally as Nhuh Pokhari, which dates back centuries. The structures were removed after a 35-day notice issued by the metropolitan city expired.
