Nepal, Feb. 3 -- A lift at the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) office that was previously used exclusively by former Mayor Balendra Shah (Balen) has now been opened to service recipients.

KMC Spokesperson Nabin Manandhar informed Republica that the lift has been accessible to the public since Sunday. He said the decision was taken following instructions from Acting Mayor Sunita Dangol.

The lift was installed after the KMC office shifted from Sundhara to Kamaladi. According to officials, Balen had set a personal password and used the lift exclusively during his tenure. Located in the office's parking area, access to the lift was reportedly restricted, with others not allowed to approach it.
