KATHMANDU, Oct. 31 -- The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has resumed its campaign to remove illegal structures. On Friday, bulldozers were deployed at the Ram Mandir premises in Thapathali.
Structures built by encroaching on the heritage site were demolished despite continuous rainfall, with municipal police personnel deployed at the site to maintain order.
Earlier on Friday, the metropolis issued a public notice warning that encroached land and structures within its jurisdiction must be vacated within seven days. Following the notice, KMC began demolishing the unauthorized structures.
