KATHMANDU, July 27 -- Indian nationals have been found smuggling cannabis produced in Thailand through Nepal to India, according to the Narcotics Control Bureau.

In the past month alone, eight Indian nationals were arrested in Nepal with Thai cannabis. Investigations show that Nepal is being used as a transit point for trafficking high-quality cannabis from Thailand to India.

The Bureau confirmed that Indian citizens are involved in both carrying and dealing with the drugs. "We have found Indian nationals working as both carriers and traders of Thai cannabis. Legal action has been taken against them," said SSP Krishna Koirala, chief of the Bureau.
