Kathmandu, Oct. 27 -- Indian cricketer Shreyas Iyer is in intensive care in Sydney after suffering a severe internal injury during the third ODI against Australia. The Team India Vice-Captain sustained internal bleeding and a spleen laceration following a hard fall while fielding on October 25.
According to medical reports, Iyer suffered a deep impact injury to his left lower rib cage, which led to a tear in his spleen. Though doctors have described his condition as stable, he will remain in the ICU for at least 48 hours for close monitoring.
Cricket fans across India and neighbouring Nepal have expressed concern and sent prayers for the dynamic middle-order batter, known for his composure and stroke play.
