Nepal, June 23 -- A woman has died in Sunsari following an assault by her husband. The deceased has been identified as Dhali Sada Musahar, 24, a resident of Musahari Tole in BarahaKshetra Municipality-5.

According to the District Police Office, Sunsari, Dhali was beaten by her husband, Soniya Musahar, 30, under the influence of alcohol.

Police reported that the incident took place around 9 pm on Saturday, when Soniya assaulted his wife. Despite her injuries, Dhali was not taken for treatment and was kept at home, where she died the following morning.

Police have taken Soniya Musahar into custody and begun an investigation under the charge of manslaughter.
