KATHMANDU, Oct. 29 -- Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Prakash Ranabhat of the Nepal Police has submitted his resignation, citing family commitments as the reason.

SSP Ranabhat, who was serving at the Sudurpashchim Province Police Office, handed over his resignation to the Police Headquarters in Naxal on Wednesday. He clarified that his decision was solely due to personal and family matters.

A source at Nepal Police Headquarters confirmed that the resignation has been submitted but is yet to be formally approved. According to legal procedures, the resignation must first be reviewed by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and then forwarded to the Ministry of Home Affairs for final approval.
