Nepal, June 25 -- Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has requested the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee to facilitate the process of tabling the proposed Nepal Police Bill in the House of Representatives within mid-July (Asadh).

Speaking at the committee meeting held on Wednesday at Singha Durbar, Minister Lekhak emphasized the government's commitment to updating the legal framework governing the Nepal Police. "We have now begun the preliminary discussion on the bill to amend the Nepal Police law," he said. "This is a top priority for both me and the Ministry. We are ready to allow as much discussion time as necessary to finalize it."
