Nepal, March 8 -- The Annapurna Rural Municipality in Kaski has started enforcing strict regulations for flights at Annapurna Base Camp (ABC), located at an altitude of 4,130 meters above sea level. The municipality now prevents non-registered helicopter companies from flying to the base camp.
Two years ago, the rural municipality formulated the "Annapurna Base Camp Helicopter Flight Tourism Fee Management Procedure 2079 BS." Despite introducing the procedure, helicopter companies did not register with the rural municipality or pay the required fees.
