KATHMANDU, April 20 -- The Supreme Court (SC) is set to hear the writ petition filed against Dr Gunakar Bhatta, who recently resigned as Executive Director of Nepal Rastra Bank(NRB) for potential appointment as NRB Governor.

The hearing will take place today before a joint bench of Justices Hari Prasad Phuyal and Nityananda Pandey.

Advocate Bishal Thapa and others had earlier submitted a supplementary petition naming Dr Bhatta as an opponent in the case. They had filed the writ challenging the government's amended criteria for appointing the Governor of NRB.

The apex court has scheduled today's hearing to determine whether to issue an interim order.
