Nepal, April 3 -- The Supreme Court (SC) has concluded the hearing on the separate writ petitions filed by Kulman Ghising, who was removed from the position of Managing Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) and newly-appointed MD Hitendra Dev Shakya.

The hearing on both writ petitions, which had been kept for review since Tuesday, concluded on Thursday. After the hearing conducted by Justices Dr Kumar Chudal and Nityananda Pandey, it is expected that the order may be issued today.

After the Cabinet's decision last Monday, which removed Ghising and appointed Shakya as the new NEA MD, Ghising filed a writ in the SC, claiming that the government had removed him maliciously before the completion of his term. He has requested an ...
