Nepal, May 12 -- A habeas corpus petition has been filed against the Kathmandu District Court's decision to allow the arrest and detention of Rabindra Mishra. The petitioner has argued that Mishra is being held in illegal detention by the government.

Sarika Karki, the wife of Mishra - senior vice president of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), filed the petition at the Supreme Court claiming that her husband is being held in illegal detention by the government.

The petition, which was filed on Tuesday, is scheduled for a preliminary hearing at the Supreme Court on Wednesday.
