KATHMANDU, Feb. 7 -- The government has withheld its plan to introduce the six ordinances introduced earlier in parliament after the Janata Samajbadi Party-Nepal (JSP-N) did not commit its support to the government.

Ruling party leaders said the government backed off from its plan to present the ordinances at the eleventh hour, citing the numerical situation in the National Assembly and pending discussions with the Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP-N). The support of JSP-N, which has three members in the National Assembly, is crucial to endorsing the ordinances.
