Nepal, July 25 -- The Government of Nepal spent Rs 361.62 billion on public debt repayment during the Fiscal Year (FY) 2024/25, according to the Financial Comptroller General Office (FCGO).
Out of the total amount, the government paid Rs 304 billion in domestic debt, Rs 45.79 billion in multilateral foreign loans, and Rs 11.65 billion in bilateral foreign loans.

Despite this significant repayment, the country's total public debt reached Rs 2.65 trillion by the end of Asar (mid-July), up from Rs 2.43 trillion in the previous fiscal year. Of the total debt, Rs 1.267 trillion is internal debt and Rs 1.382 trillion is external debt.
