Nepal, April 4 -- The government has announced a public holiday for the upcoming Sunday on the occasion of Ram Navami, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The ministry stated that all government offices and public institutions across the country will remain closed on Chaitra 24, 2081 B.S. (April 6), in observance of the festival.

"This notice is being published as the Government of Nepal has decided to grant a public holiday on the occasion of Ram Navami on Chaitra 24, 2081 B.S., for all government offices and public institutions across the country," reads a statement published in the Nepal Gazette.

The decision to declare the holiday was made during a recent cabinet meeting.
