KATHMANDU, May 3 -- The government has revealed plans to introduce a fresh depiction of the country's new map on 100 rupee banknotes.

The Nepal Rastra Bank has been granted authority to replace the current map with the updated version on the notes.

The decision, confirmed by the Minister for Communication and Information and Technology and government spokesperson Rekha Sharma, was reached during Cabinet meetings held on April 25 and May 2.

The updated map now includes Limpiyadhura, Lipulekh, and Kalapani in the far-western region as integral parts of Nepal's territory.
