Nepal, May 2 -- Garbage trucks headed to the Sisdol landfill site have been halted in Nuwakot after locals staged a protest against the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC)'s removal of vegetable vendors and shops from Machhapokhari.

Residents of Kakani Rural Municipality-1 blocked the road at Tinpiple, stopping all garbage-carrying vehicles. As a result, around two dozen trucks are currently stranded in the area.
