Nepal, May 29 -- Home Ministry has recommended promotion of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Ganesh Bahadur Thada Magar to the position of Additional Inspector General (AIG) in the Armed Police Force-bypassing the officer at the top of the seniority list.

DIG Kamal Giri, who ranked first in seniority and was widely expected to be next in line, was overlooked without explanation. Instead, Thada Magar, who was second in seniority, secured the promotion.
