KATHMANDU, Sept. 20 -- Foreign investors are found increasingly attracted to run hotels in Nepal with such companies proposing to invest in around two dozen hotels in the first two months of the current fiscal year.

According to the Department of Industry (DoI), investors from six countries registered 71 projects at the department during mid-July and mid-September. Of them, 30 were related to tourism businesses.

Similarly, 20 proposed projects are related to the service sector, 15 to manufacturing, four to agriculture and one each to energy and information technology. Of the proposed foreign direct investment, 62 are Chinese companies, the largest of all.
